Disney+ Series Ms. Marvel Gets VFX Tweak To Reflect Spider-Man: No Way Home

When we imagine what a day at work is like for Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, we picture dozens of spinning plates crashing to Earth yet somehow spinning off into infinity. Occasionally, though, one of them needs some help to keep up — such is the case with the Disney+ series Ms. is of a recently resolved continuity error found in Marvel.

The change was first spotted on Twitter by fan account MsMarvelUK, who said the Statue of Liberty image had been updated. When New York City icon Spider-Man appeared surrounded by scaffolding during No Way Home’s climactic battle, the statue had a copper finish (the statue’s copper finish results in a pale green color). The statue was being renovated to include Captain America’s shield, though Spidey’s fight knocked the shield off.

Before the VFX team worked their Disney magic, the statue appeared in its traditional, oxidized form in the opening credits to Ms. Marvel. However, a look at the credits now shows a copper colored statue.

It’s a minor change, but in a franchise with so many simultaneous storylines and interacting characters, details like this can not only help fans but also help the studio figure out when things are going to happen. And where are they happening? With so many productions under its belt, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has suffered from various continuity errors over the years, including reusing actors for multiple roles a few times.
