Some settings seem ripe for almost infinite exploration, and one of them belongs to the Fallout games, starting with the first one in 1997, all the way to Fallout 76 in 2018. The Fallout series takes a bright picture of our future in the 1940s. ’50s and imagines it all came true – and then went terribly wrong. We had nuclear powered cars, home assistant robots, and every convenience you could ever imagine. Everything was clean and elegantly designed.

And then, in 2077, nuclear war blew it all to hell. This is where the players come in. Housed in underground bunkers called Vaults, built by a company called Vault-Tec, these self-contained shelters became home to countless would-be survivors and were intended to function until the world Not safe for resettlement. However, many of the vaults were also used as experiments on their inhabitants, and others were simply corrupted. Throughout the game series, players have left their vaults as early as 2102 and as late as 2287, emerging into the post-apocalyptic wasteland in search of knowledge, supplies, and survival.

The game series has garnered a loyal fan base thanks to iconic art direction, memorable use of classic pre-war music, and vast open worlds full of quests, characters, and decisions to explore. As a Vault Duel, you can join the Brotherhood of Steel, hang out with ghouls (heavily beamed, mutated humans), fight invaders, and run from super mutants and Death Claws. Deciding how you want to save the world, help people or use them, making allies and making companions.

Between the bombing and the events of Fallout 4, and the hundreds of years between the New California Republic and the wastelands of the East Coast, there’s a ton of space and time in which the show could be set. The series likely won’t be based on a specific Fallout game, though there’s enough content that it’s sure to be full of references and Easter eggs that fans of the games will want to check out.

Amazon has yet to announce a release date for the Prime Video Fallout series, though it’s safe to bet the show will debut in late 2023.

Who is the director?

Although the show is slated for the series, no episode director has yet been confirmed, although executive producer Jonathan Nolan is reportedly Direct the pilot episode.. Geneva Robertson-Dorritt (Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner (Portlandia) will serve as showrunners. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy (Westworld) are producing the show, so it’s possible they’ll helm some episodes, but nothing has been formally announced. What do we know about the story?

Plot details for the show are currently being kept under wraps. According to Variety, the series is “set in a world where the future envisioned by Americans in the late 1940s is imploded on itself by nuclear war in 2077.” In other words, we know the show is drawing from the same mythology as the games. Based on the first image released for the series above, we can bet that at least some of the main characters will be emerging from Vault 33.

Is there a trailer?

There is no trailer yet. Amazon has it. Released an official photo for the series. You can also get a sneak peek at one of the show’s sets and a small piece of the series’ iconic Power Armor.
