The Xbox Series X|S version of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been delayed, as has the rollout of upcoming seasonal content for the game. On Twitter, developer Fatshark released a statement announcing the delay, citing community feedback as the reason for the delay.
“Over the next few months, our sole focus is to address the feedback many of you have,” Fatshark CEO and co-founder Martin Wahlund wrote in the statement. “Specifically, we will focus on delivering a complete crafting system, a more rewarding progression loop, and continue to work on game stability and performance optimizations.”
Wahlund thanked the community for playing and providing feedback on Darktide’s issues, saying the team is committed to making a game that will reward players for weeks, not hours.
“This also means we will delay our seasonal content rollout and the launch of the Xbox Series X|S,” Wahlund writes. “We will also suspend the upcoming release of premium cosmetics. We could not continue down this path, knowing that we have not addressed many feedback areas in the game today.”
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is available for PC. In game spot Warhammer 40,000: Darktide ReviewMark Delaney wrote, “Darktoid feels like a natural progression of the best parts of Vermentoid, as well as an example of growing pains in the live service world. Things like combat, pacing, and team building are expertly considered.” is and is developed, but there are some issues with elements like metagame looting and chasing cosmetics that are common when a team tries to create a new game with a long tail. It’s a hope. Afza is both similar to Left 4 Dead and a poor live service, but its problems can be fixed, and Varmentoid’s development suggests that Darktide will enjoy a long shelf life as one of the best games of its kind. Will pick up.”
